Battery Pack Checkout (WP z50 - 2608)



Battery Pack Checkout: If the battery pack or the optional high capacity battery have a problem, refer to the following:

  1.  Enter suspend mode by pressing the Power button.
  2.  Remove the battery pack and check for any mechanical damage.
     Replace the battery pack if it is damaged.

    Note: Damage to the battery pack caused by the customer is not covered by the warranty.

  3.  Remove the battery pack and measure the voltage between the battery terminals.
     See the following figure:
     

    Pin Voltage (Vdc)
    1 11.1V
    7 Ground (-)

     

  4.  If the voltage is less than 11.1 V dc, the battery pack  has been discharged. Recharge the battery pack.

     If the voltage is still less than 11.1 V dc after recharging, replace the battery pack.

     If the battery pack is extremely hot (over 50°C), replace the battery pack and the mainboard.

     If the voltage is correct, but you still suspect a problem with the battery pack,
     go to 'Running the Diagnostics Test'.
