FLASH BIOS UPGRADING INSTRUCTIONS 

1.   It is important to have the system boot cleanly before executing a 
 flash bios upgrade since it should not be run under any protected mode 
 environments. The best way to do this is to create a bootable floppy disk 
 i.e. "Format a: /s" (in dos)

2.   Download the Flash BIOS update utility from our bios revision web 
 page.

3.   Uncompress this file with the pkunzip.exe utility and you should see 
 some new files appearing on your harddrive. Copy these new files onto 
 your bootable disk. 

4.    Reboot your system with this bootable floppy disk in your A: drive. 
 (You might have to change the boot up sequence (in BIOS setup) from 
 C:A: to A:C: before reboot.) 

5.    After bootup, run the program (.exe) file from the floppy disk. 

6.    Follow the onscreen instructions and it will ask for the name of the 
 BIOS file (filename.bin). So enter the entire filename and confirm that you 
 want to program the BIOS. (If there are two .bin files, choose the correct 
 (L or S) version. Identify your bios version by rebooting your computer and 
 looking at the release date for your bios. You will find a L or S at the end 
 of the release date i.e. 07/21/1996L or 07/21/96S. If you have mistakenly 
 used the wrong bios, you will have to send back your board for repairs. 
 Check your vendor for details) and press ENTER. 

7.    Answer YES, when the screen asks if you would like to save the 
 BIOS. This option is highly recommended since if anything goes wrong 
 you can reinstall the original BIOS from the backup file. 

8.    Answer YES, when the screen asks you if it is OK to program. 

9.    You should be able to see new BIOS version display on the screen 
 when when you reboot your system.
