A system hang during network transfers



PROBLEM - A system hang can occur during network transfers. The hang condition occurs in the when the Madge adapter is installed in the upper slots.

Failures have not been seen in the lowest slot on the riser card.

Machines AFFECTED - All 6382/S, 6384/D, and 6387/T's running OS/2 2.0 and Novell LAN requester with a Madge Token Ring adapter installed.

SOLUTION - The Madge card must be set in the async mode and be running the madgeodi.sys driver to fix this problem. A glitch on the clock line cause the adapters state machine to malfunction. Madge can be contacted for the driver at 1-800-TRMADGE.
