Hardware Maintenance Strategy
This part of the manual contains the general checkout procedures, related
service procedures, Symptom-to-FRU indexes, and parts listings for the PS/2
products.
NOTE: This manual and the diagnostic tests are intended to test
only IBM products. Non-IBM products of any kind including
adapter cards, accelerator boards, options, or Non-IBM devices, can give
false errors and invalid computer responses. If you remove a Non-IBM device
and the symptom goes away, the problem is with the device you removed.
The drives in the computer you are servicing might have been
rearranged or the drive startup sequence changed. Be extremely careful during
write operations such as copying, saving, or formatting. Data or programs
can be overwritten if you select an incorrect drive.
