Beep Code Index 62xx-65xx/68xx, Server315-8638 and 2134-2176 Aptiva

In the following Beep Code Index, the numbers indicate the sequence and number of beeps. For example, a 2-3-2 beep code symptom (a burst of two beeps, three beeps, then a burst of two beeps) indicates a memory module problem.

For Beep-symptoms, not listed here it can help to remove all memory (DIMM, SIMM) and then only populate (degrade for testing) the machine with the absolute minimum memory needed.
(e.g. weak memory bits (<= 16KB), or memory-contact problems can give wrong beep-symptoms - not generated by POST-BIOS routines).

It is a 'good practice' to reseat (remove/install) the memory module(s), power plug's and processor (CPU), and be sure you have done the computer DC-voltage measurement/check (incl. Power-on-Good (POR) if possible).
