LCD Related Symptoms

The TFT LCD for the notebook computer contains over 921000 thin film transistors (TFTs). A small number of missing, discolored or lighted dots (on all the time) is characteristic of TFT LCD technology, but excessive pixel problems can cause viewing concerns.
  Before Replacing the LCD
The LCD should not be replaced unless the number of dots satisfies the following condition:

No beep, power-on indicator on, 1. System Board
and a blank LCD during POST. 2. DC/DC Card

° LCD backlight not working, 1. Reseat the LCD connectors.
or 2. LCD Assembly
° LCD too dark, or 3. Interposer Card
° LCD brightness cannot be 4. DC/DC Card
adjusted, or
° LCD contrast cannot be
adjusted.
° LCD screen unreadable, or 1. See the preceding note on replacing LCDs.
° Characters missing pels, or 2. Reseat all LCD connectors.
° Screen abnormal, or 3. System Board
° Wrong color displayed. 4. Video Card
  5. Interposer Card
  
LCD has extra horizontal    LCD Assembly
or vertical lines displayed.
