Removing the Real Time Clock (RTC) Battery

Disassembly Sequence Hood Air Baffle Drive Cage Mass Storage Front Bezel Speakers Button Board & Cable Headphone Board Power Supply Processor AMD Pentium II Modem NIC Memory RTC Battery Serial Cable System Board

The lithium RTC battery is located in a removable socket on the system board. 1. Perform the preparation procedures. 2. Remove the hood. 3. Move the air baffle out of the way. 4. Remove the drive cage. 5. Locate the RTC battery. 6. Push down on the socket lever and slide the RTC battery out of the socket . End of sequence. To replace the RTC battery, reverse this procedure.
