To manually eject a compact or DVD disk from a tray-load CD-ROM or DVD drive, complete the following step:

Insert a metal rod that is approximately 1/16 × 1 3/8 inches (1.2 mm in diameter and at least 35 mm in length) into the manual eject hole and push firmly. You may use a straightened paper clip to manually open the CD or DVD drive tray.

The DVD drive is standard on Presario 4240 ES models.
