Preparation for Disassembly
To prepare the computer for removal and
replacement procedures, complete the following steps:
- Remove any disk or compact disc from
the computer.
- Turn off the computer and any peripheral
devices that are connected to the computer.

The computer power switch
should be turned off before you disconnect any cables. |

CAUTION
|
|
Before doing any work inside
your computer, ground yourself by touching a metal part of the chassis. |
- Disconnect the power cord from the
electrical outlet, and then from the computer.

WARNING
|
|
Failure
to disconnect the power from the computer may result in personal
injury. |
- Disconnect all peripheral device cables
from the computer.
- Turn the computer over on its side (open
side facing up).

IMPORTANT
|
During disassembly, label each
cable as you remove it. Be sure to note its position and routing. |
