Removing the 1394 Card, continued

 

Removal
  1. Remove the screw bub1.jpg (5522 bytes) from the 1394 card.
  2. Using a gentle rocking (side-to-side) motion, pull the 1394 card bub2.jpg (5582 bytes) from the PCI slot on the system board.

 

Replacement

  1. Align the 1394 card with the PCI slot on the system board and with the expansion card rear connector. Insert the card carefully and firmly into the slot.
  2. Replace the screw to secure the 1394 card to the chassis.
  3. Reconnect the 1394 data and power cable from the Front I/O bracket to the connector on the 1394 card.

     


IMPORTANT

During replacement, the 1394 card rear connector must be properly inserted into the rear chassis slot to ensure the card is properly seated into the connector on the system board.
