NEC 567 Motherboard: Green Vertical Lines In Windows 95 (OSR2)

Symptom
Green vertical lines appear upon entering Windows 95. Safe mode and DOS look fine.

Resolution
1. Restart the computer
2. Press F8 upon seeing "Starting Windows '95"
3. Choose Safe Mode.
4. Once into Safe Mode, click on Start - Settings - Control Panel.
5. Double click on the Display icon.
6. Click on Settings.
7. Click on Advanced Properties.
8. Under Adapter, click Change.
9. Select either the ATI 3d Rage II or the ATI 3d Xpression PCI (Direct Draw)
10. Click on OK twice and then Yes to restart Windows.
