REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT

Processor and heatsink

1 Perform preparation procedures.
2 Remove the hood.
3 Remove the clip bub1.gif (838 bytes) from the heat sink bub2.gif (842 bytes).
4 Lift the heat sink bub2.gif (842 bytes) from the processor.
NOTE The processor may come out directly with the heat sink.
5 Raise the ZIF socket lever bub4.gif (843 bytes) and lift the processor bub3.gif (841 bytes) out of the socket.

To reinstall the processor, rub a thermal transfer crayon on the bottom of the heatsink, then reverse the steps above. (The thermal transfer crayon replaces the thermal pad used with earlier processors.)
