Abstract: NETFINITY 3000: ADAPTER CARDS MAY LOOSEN IF SERVER IS MOVED

SYMPTOM:

Adapter Cards may become loose, during system transport, on Netfinity 3000 server (M/T8476) when using the I/O Clamp.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

FIX:

Each Adapter should be secured with a screw.

DETAILS:

The Netfinity 3000 server uses an I/O Clamp, i.e. adapter card bracket, to secure adapter cards that are installed in the server.
The adapter cards are installed upside down and the bracket is in place to keep the cards from falling.
Screws should be used if the cards become unseated from the slots in the server.

Note: If the adapters are installed using the bracket and the server is NOT moved, customer should not observe any problems.
