Abstract: ERROR DURING INSTALLATION OF SERVERAID CLUSTER SOLUTION


SYMPTOM:

During the ServeRAID / Microsoft Cluster Server 1.0 (MSCS) installation process the user is instructed to move all share disk from Node "A" to Node "B".

The following error CAN occur during the execution of IPSHAHTO.EXE from Node "B":

"MERGE failed on merge id# X-X on ServeRAID #X
<sp#X>. Error - 0x1122005"

Note: The value X will vary.

Listed below are the shipping and non-shipping systems certified for MSCS:


FIX:

Update Firmware/BIOS on your ServeRAID II or ServeRAID 3L/3H adapter using "PC ServeRAID BIOS and Firmware Diskette version 3.50B" or later.
The Windows NT ServeRAID device driver, ServeRAID Administrator, and cluster software must also be updated.

Note: Please review
"ServeRAID - IBM Netfinity High Availability Cluster Solutions For IBM ServeRAID-3H and ServeRAID-3HB Installation and User's Guide" before upgrading.

Note:

  1.  The corresponding Text file (00n9010.txt) is viewable on-line and may be printed.
  2.  To creating a BIOS update diskette; the downloaded file (00n9010.exe) is a self-extracting  executable file that will prompt for a diskette.
     Follow instructions on the display to create the diskette.
