Abstract: NETFINITY 7000 M10 FAN MONITOR STATUS NOT CORRECT

SYMPTOM:

Power backplane firmware reports wrong status.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

FIX:

Download and apply the current firmware for the power backplane from the following URL:

http://www.pc.ibm.com/searchfiles.html

search on "Advanced System Management Processor Firmware"
(file should be release Version 1.10 or later)

DETAILS:

In the IBM Netfinity 7000 M10 the Netfinity manager software monitors for the fans may not indicate the correct status.
If the fan goes off line the status monitor will still indicate idle.
Alerts and log entries are correct, it is just the monitor that is incorrect.
