Abstract: PUSHDOWN TAB in BAY 3 INTERFERES with TAPE DRIVE FUNCTION


TEXT:

Push-down tab in Bay 3 interferes with Tape Drive function.


SYMPTOMS:

Unable to remove cartridge from TR4 or TR5 tape drives.


PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:


FIX:

Shell has been EC'd to remove the tab. It is not needed.


WORKAROUND:

Tab must be reformed upward to clear option in Bay 3, but not too far which would interfere with Bay 2.


DETAILS:

Proper tab deflection is achieved by pushing upward on the tab until the lowest part of its curved surface is approximately 1.25mm (0.050") below the top of Bay 3.
Be careful not to deflect the tab too far.
