Abstract: SERIALRAID ADAPTER: use NT SP4 and 6450 ADAPTER UCODE

SYMPTOM:

MSCS failover does not complete successfully.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

FIX:

Use NT Service Pack 4 and Adapter Microcode level of 6450 or later.
The latest available level of Adapter Microcode for the IBM Serial RAID adapter for PC Servers
can be obtained and downloaded from the following URL:

http://www.hursley.ibm.com/ ssa/pcserver/

WORKAROUND:

No workaround. Apply latest microcode and NT Service Pack 4 as listed in "FIX", above.

DETAILS:

When the IBM Serial RAID Adapter for PC Servers, part number 09L5544 (and future revisions, if any), is used in a configuration utilizing the Microsoft Cluster Service software (Wolfpack),
a failover timeout problem may be experienced.
The failover operation will not complete and the remaining host will not take control of all resources.

This problem is likely to occur only with adapters which have a microcode level of 6350 and where NT Service Pack 3 is being used.
