Abstract: PROCESSOR NOT REPORTED correctly, AFTER a PROCESSOR goes BAD


TEXT:

POST does not report correct processor after a processor going bad.


SYMPTOM:

On the subsequent reboot after replacing a bad processor, the POST will display incorrect processor status information.
The newly replaced good processor may still be reported as a bad processor.


PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:


WORKAROUND:

After replacing the bad processor with the good processor, reboot the system.
The POST will report erroneous information.
Ignore this and boot the system to the operating system.
Shut down and restart the system again and POST should report the new and correct information.
