Abstract: POST SHOWS WRONG PROCESSORS AFTER REPLACEMENT of a PROCESSOR


SYMPTOM:

On starting a system, the POST screen will indicate which processor is the Boot System Processor (BSP) and which is/are Auxiliary Processor(s) (AP). If a processor has to be replaced or removed and when the system is powered down and brought up again, the BSP and AP may return incorrect data.


PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:


FIX:

The next release of BIOS code will fix. BIOS version 24A is scheduled for October testing and release by 12/98.


WORKAROUND:

If system returns incorrect data on booting, you can get correct data reported if you do a second reboot of system.
